      • What is the name of our organization?
        • Puppies With Purpose (PWP)
      • Where do we get our puppies?
        • All over
          • Wisconsin, Jefferson City, North Carolina, Texas
        • Breeders
      • What is our mission?
        • Raise and socialize service dogs in training
        • Educate the public about disability awareness and assistance dog etiquette
      • What type of service dogs do our dogs become?
        • Mobility
        • We don’t do medical alert, seeing eye, hearing alert, PTSD
      • Where are our dogs trained?
        • The women’s prison in Vandalia
      • What age do we start training/socializing?
        • 7-8 weeks
      • About how long does it take to train a dog?
        • Two years
      • Why do we socialize the dogs?
        • To help them get used to every day life and not be fearful
      • What do we say to the dogs when we want them to go potty?
        • Pick a spot
        • Potty training is the only actual training we do
      • What is the number one word we don’t use?
        • No
      • Is PWP officially affiliated with Mizzou?
        • No, we are a community organization
        • While most of our members are Mizzou students, we take students from Stephens, other adults, etc.
      • What is an emotional support dog?
        • A dog hose sole purpose is to make you feel good
      • Do service dogs ever get to play?
        • Yes, they get to play when their vests are off
        • They will still perform their tasks when their vests are off, but they can play and still be normal dogs
      • What does CHAMP stand for?
        • Canine Helpers Allow More Possibilities
        • Our parent organization who handles placement and training the recipients on how to work with their dog
      • Do service dogs in training have the same rights as a fully trained service dog?
        • In the state of Missouri, yes
        • There are times when you can’t bring a dog or you could be asked to leave. If a dog misbehaves or it is a safety concern or a private establishment, you can be asked to leave
      • How much does Champ/PWP charge for a service dog?
        • They are placed free of charge, mainly because of our volunteers and prison training program
        • The average cost for a service dog is about $15,000-$30,000
      • What should you do before you pet any of our dogs?
        • Ask the raiser, even if they aren’t wearing their vest
      • Where can service dogs go?
        • Most public places with their person, with a few exceptions
      • What do we say instead of no?
        • Uh-uh

      • CHAMP just got two new chocolate labs
      • Bake Sale Friday 10:00-2:00
        • Baking party Thursday at 6:00pm

        • Black and yellow shirts are $12
        • Long sleeve teal shirts $25
        • Short sleeve teal shirts $20
      • Next week
        • We will be doing an outing or meeting at Dr. Warhover’s house for hands-on work with the dogs
