Dewey is our organization’s first service puppy in training. This little guy, pictured above, is a Golden Retriever who was bred by CAMEO Golden Retrievers in Corapeake, North Carolina. He was born on June 10, 2012.

Dewey is a typical Golden puppy – he’s friendly, well-behaved, loves to play, is obsessed with water, and always seems to have a smile on his face. He and his puppy raiser, Megan Warhover, are practically celebrities on campus!

Dewey, you're too big for that kiddie pool!

Darling Daisy is the first female to come to Puppies with Purpose. Born on July 8, 2013, she was kindly donated to us by Harvestime Kennel in Menasha, Wisconsin. We picked her up on August 26, 2013 and Ellen Hinze is ecstatic to be her puppy raiser!

After further training, it became apparent that Daisy was much happier as a homebody rather than a service dog, which is okay! It is hoped that one day she will feel comfortable enough to be a therapy dog and comfort those in nursing homes and in the hospital.

The second newborn to come to Puppies with Purpose is Hershey, a Chocolate Labrador from Neverest Labradors in Fox Lake, Wisconsin. He was born on December 30, 2013. Hershey is a little spitfire who is always up for an outdoor adventure. He loves walks, chasing sticks, and swimming in the pond at the local dog park. His favorite color is purple and he’ll do most anything for a treat!

After a few rounds of training through the prison program and much deliberation, it was decided that Hershey would be better suited to being a therapy dog. His puppy raiser, Brittany Wibbenmeyer, adopted him from CHAMP and is working with him to become a certified therapy dog. As a therapy dog, Hershey will be able to visit patients in hospitals, people in nursing homes, and children in schools to provide comfort and love. walk 1

Riley  was born on August 21, 2013 at Golden Rose Kennel in Norlina, North Carolina. We picked him up on October 19, 2013. Co-raising Riley are the fabulous Kristi Millam & Alexandra Sopocy.

Yankee was born on September 26, 2013 at Brooks Labradors in Lucas, Texas. We picked him up on November 26, 2013 and his puppy raiser was Allie Beydler.

Because of his high drive to work (especially for his tennis ball), it was later decided that Yankee would be better suited as a search and rescue dog. He is showing excellent progress in this field. We wish him luck as he continues his training!

Yankee has already gotten so big!

Tigger is our organization’s second service dog in training. He is a Golden Retriever mix that was born on May 11, 2012.

This sweet boy was sent to us by our parent organization, CHAMP, because he needed a little extra socialization. Alicia Mendoza, his puppy raiser, had him from February 7 to April 2 of 2013, when he was returned back to CHAMP to continue training and living with his CHAMP puppy raiser.

I am looking to partner with a group that is willing to utilize their comfort dogs to bring joy and happiness to others. My drive is inspired by my son Brandon who passed away a year ago at age 26. He loved dogs, especially goldens labs and huskies.
ANyway, I am designing a prototype plush animal and it will be a “prayer puppy” this is a unique gift that I would like to join forces with marketing with real comfort dogs.
I have an idea that would benefit those in need of comfort and/or organizations like yours that need money and resources. My plan is non-profit.
Let me know if you are interested in hearing more of this business and venturing out with me.
    Thank you!

I would like more information on getting a service dog. I have epilepsy, my seizures are getting more frequent, so I need to figure out if a service dog would help. I am very interested in a dog like Scout. I live in St. Charles County.

I have three children. Two that fall under Autism umbrella. Our son could use a service dog so badly. He is 4. He was born with physical disabilities and was developmentally behind. He is now considered Autistic. He is non-verbal, we are working hard on obtaining words everyday! He could use the support! Please tell me how to get him one of these precious dogs!
